Invest alongside me
Your first $100,000 — built in the open, alongside mine.
Full financial advice isn't priced for someone just starting out. So I've put my own portfolio on eToro, in public: you can see every holding, read why I make each change, and copy it if you choose.
No membership fee, nothing to buy from me. Open an account, find me, and decide for yourself.
Start here
What's the exact month and year you'll have $100,000?
Put in two numbers. We'll show you the date you cross $100,000 invested — then how much sooner it could arrive.
I have invested, and I can add a month.
You cross $100k in
That's your starting date — 4 years and 5 months from now. Below is how much sooner it moves.
Watch the ball start to roll
Pick how much more you'd put in each month and watch the curve lift.
Adding $1,000/mo more, you'd have about $3.3M in 30 years — roughly $1.4M more than your current pace (dashed line).
An illustration, not a prediction. It assumes a steady 8% return each year, compounded monthly, with no fees, tax or inflation applied — real returns arrive unevenly and some years are negative. Change the numbers above and the whole picture changes, which is rather the point. Nothing here is personal financial advice.
How it works
Three steps, all of them yours to take
01
Open an eToro account
Sign up through the button on this page. eToro is the platform and holds your account; in Australia it is provided by eToro AUS Capital Limited under its own financial services licence.
02
Find me — @paulyang
My profile shows what I hold, in what proportions, and the posts where I explain each change. Follow it and every move appears in your feed.
03
Watch, or copy
Plenty of people simply follow and learn. If you want your account to mirror mine, eToro's CopyTrader does it in proportion, from $200, and you can stop copying whenever you like.
The portfolio
What you'll see from me
No performance promises — just how the portfolio is run, so you can judge it for yourself.
Index funds at the core, a capped growth satellite
Most of the money sits in broad index ETFs — the Nasdaq-100, the S&P 500 and Australian shares. A smaller, capped slice goes to semiconductors and a geared S&P 500 fund, which magnifies gains and losses alike. No stock tips, no trade of the week.
Every change explained
When I buy, sell or rebalance, I post why, in plain English. The point is that you learn the reasoning, not just copy the trade.
My own money, the same as yours
Every position sits in my own account. When the market falls, my balance falls with it, and you'll see what I do about it in real time.
Honest fit
Who this is for — and who it isn't
This is for you if
- You're starting out and want to see how a financial planner actually invests, not just read about it.
- You're investing for five years or more and can leave the money alone through the bad years.
- You'd rather build the habit yourself and understand the reasoning as you go.
- You can put a set amount in every month and keep doing it.
Look elsewhere if
- You're after quick wins, stock tips or crypto calls.
- You'll need the money within the next few years.
- A sharp fall in your balance would make you sell in a panic.
- You need advice on your own situation — super, debt, insurance or tax. That's a separate conversation, and you can book one below.
Questions
Before you start
Do I have to copy you?
No. Following costs nothing and many people only ever do that. Copying is your decision, made inside eToro, and you can stop at any time.
How much do I need?
eToro's minimum to copy another investor is $200. To follow along and read the posts, you only need the account.
Is this personal financial advice?
No. I don't know your situation, and the portfolio isn't built around it. It's how I invest my own money, shown openly. If you want advice on your own position, that is a separate engagement with its own documentation.
What happens when the market falls?
It will, and the portfolio will fall with it — mine included. Long-term investing means sitting through those years rather than reacting to them. When it happens, I'll post what I'm doing and why.
Who holds my money?
eToro does, in an account in your name. I can't see into your account or move your money, and you can withdraw or stop copying without asking me.
This page is general information only. It does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs, and the portfolio shown on eToro is how I invest my own money — not a recommendation that it suits you. Consider whether it is appropriate for you and read eToro's Product Disclosure Statement and Target Market Determination before investing. The eToro platform is provided in Australia by eToro AUS Capital Limited ACN 612 791 803 AFSL 491139. Copy trading is not investment advice. Investments can go down as well as up, your capital is at risk, and past performance is not an indication of future results.

Want a plan for your own situation?
When you're ready for advice built around you
Following a portfolio is a good start. When super, debt, property or tax start pulling in different directions, that's when a plan of your own earns its keep.
